MEET OUR GUIDES

Ben Davine
Ben grew up in southern Vermont, where he spent the first twenty two years of his life. At the age of fifteen, he learned how to fly fish, taught by his older brother on a stream in southwest Montana. The minute he got back to home, he bought his first fly rod and the rest is history. After graduating in 2021, he moved to the Jackson area, where he became a cook on wilderness pack trips and a snowmobile guide in the winter. When he’s not on the river, you’ll find him riding horses, hunting, or snowmobiling.

Jonathan Scola
Jonathan grew up in Kenosha, WI along the shores of Lake Michigan. At an early age, he fell in love with the sport of fishing, so much so that some of his first fishing memories were in a float plane trip to Canada as a kindergartner. From there his passion grew exponentially. Trips to fish spring creeks at Great Lake tributaries with his dad and lake fishing on a boat with his grandpa. After college, he worked a summer at Jackson Lake Lodge where his love of the west and everything fly fishing was cemented. Not long after returning home, he made the decision to move back to Jackson and pursue a career as a fly fishing guide. He is currently the Outfitting Manager and part-time guide at JD High Country Outfitters, and his love for the sport and the area continues to grow.

Sam Childress
Sam, affectionately known as "Chili" by many, was born and raised in St. Louis, MO but cut his teeth fishing the lakes and streams in the Adirondacks, where he spent his summers. He is an avid dry fly angler and works as a ski instructor during the winter. His other passions include waterfowl hunting and golf. When not pursuing the outdoors, Sam can be found hanging with his dog Uncas or rooting for his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals.

Wes Bolton
Wes grew up in the fly fishing mecca of Eastern Idaho, learning how to fish on the famous waters of the South Fork of the Snake River and the Henry’s Fork from an accomplished fly fishing Father. Moving to Park City, Utah in 2001, he found himself guiding on the Provo River and other area streams. After eight years there, adventure got the best of him and he headed up to guide the waters of Katmai National Park in Alaska. With four years of Alaska under his belt he made his way to the Jackson area and has been guiding here since. When he isn’t out rowing his boat he is probably out chasing elk with a bow, or looking for untouched snow in the backcountry on a snowmobile.
