As we enter October, the change of seasons becomes more prominent. The fall colors are peaking, the overnight and daytime temps are cooling down, and the air is clearer. Our temps are plunging into the low-30s at night and topping in the mid-50s during the day.
The Bureau of Reclamation has completed their drastic drawdown of flows from the Jackson Lake Dam. The flows have been reduced from 2060cfs to 285cfs (winter flows). We suggest focusing on the canyon section of the Snake below Jackson. The Hoback and Granite continue to fish well.
Jackson Lake is closed October 1 thru October 31.
All rivers in Yellowstone National Park are now open.
Both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park waters are open and accessible to anglers during the government shutdown.

Baetis, a good number of Mahogany Duns, and numerous midges are a daily occurrence. For terrestrials, concentrate on beetles and ants. Streamers are producing bigger fish.
