It's Been A HOT Minute Since My Last Report

Considering Jackson Hole has experienced high temperatures for almost 8 weeks,
fishing on area rivers and streams have held up quite well. The release from the
Jackson Lake Dam has remained steady 1990 cfs. At the Bureau of Reclamation’s
spring meeting, they were hoping for a summer release of around 2000 cfs. So far, they have held to that prediction. Thank you Bureau of Rec!
Water temperatures are starting to have an impact on some of our waters, so please be conscious of that. On the Snake River in the valley, the combination of that time of year with high water temperatures, fishing in the afternoon has gone soft. It just might be wise to curb our afternoon fishing on most area waters.
Here is list of flies that have been effective for us.

DRIES
Grey Parawulff
Pink Parachute
Royal Coachman Cripple
Tan Cubby Chernobyl
Golden Waterwalker
Emma’s Summer Stone
Tim’s Hopper in tan
NYMPHS
Brown Spanish Bullet
Split Case PMD
Tungsten Jig PMD
Redemption
STREAMERS
Olive Mini Dungeon
Olive/White Laser Legal
Double Jig Bunny.
Again, please be cognizant of water temps. Stressing fish when water temperatures are in the high 60’s can be fatal. In Yellowstone National Park, the Firehole, Madison, and most of the Gibbon remain closed to fishing due to high water temperatures.

Until next time, good fishing.
